Does your toddler feed himself?

My son is 21 months and doesn’t feed himself completely yet. I have always fed him so I know he eats well. He will feed himself his snacks and some finger foods (fries, chicken nuggets, quesadillas cut up) . Do toddlers at this age spoon feed themselves completely?

Although mine knows how to use her spoon and fork, she’ll use her hands most of the time 🙄 I would suggest you let your LO try to use utensils and feed him, what he can’t get yet :)

Yes she feeds herself. Sometimes she uses her hands and sometimes she uses utensils.

Mine feeds himself mostly with forks and spoon but also sometimes hands but he only feed himself about half his meal ! When he starts to not feel too hungry he looses concentration

My LG will eat with fingers or fork if she is really interested. Her favorite foods. Same with a spoon but it can get messy with a spoon. For regular food she is lazy, she looses interest so in order for her to eat what I think is a good size meal I have to feed her.

Mine isn't great with a spoon, but she tries and mostly feeds herself finger food.

Mine isn’t good with utensils, but tries a little. He mostly uses hands. I need to offer the fork and spoon more than I do. I usually put his food on his tray, which isn’t good for practicing with a spoon

My son is pretty good with a fork if the food is easy to stab, with a spoon if it’s really thick or sticky he can do ok but if not it just falls off lol we have done baby lead weening so he’s been given utensils since 7 months and used them on and off with his hands.

Ours tries but sometimes wants to be helped. If we walk away though he will use his fingers if he can’t get the utensils to work for him. Sometimes he wants me to hold his sandwich and that’s where I draw the line 😂
