I haven’t really introduced utensils to baby 🫣

She has a morning weetabix and really don’t want to deal with weetabix in hair, and everywhere at 6am, but I know I have to! How long did it take for baby to get comfy with utensils? How shall I introduce it? When I give her a little fork at dinner time, she thinks it’s play time 😅

Following!! My little girl just uses her hands🙈

So ive been giving my youngest a spoon since about 9 months. I'd have two one for me to feed her with and one for her so she can try herself. It may take a few times for her to get into it. With a fork i would put the food on it and let her take the food to her mouth and then eventually they would start to try and pick foos up. We also all eat together or she atleast eats with her sister which means she mimics what she sees . x

@Rebecca haha mine too, which I’m ok with, but want to give her the opportunity to be able to have some independence at brekkie and learn how to have cereal, just not ready for the chaos 🙈

I started to introduce utensils when my son was showing interest in mine, if he wanted my fork or spoon I would go get his to use think he’s was about 13 months before he started to take interest in it, he’s 19 months and only really using a spoon.

I’ve always given my daughter utensils and she started to use them confidently at about 15 months old. She doesn’t like getting messy tho so I think it spurred her on 😂

My boy goes to Nursey and at 1 they pretty much expected him to be able to feed himself which he wasn’t used to as I feed him things like weetabjx., yogurt etc took a few weeks but he cracked it and I have to remember to give him the same independence at home x
