Child tax & OSAP
I recently had my first baby and I found out I still owe money for OSAP from 7 years ago!! This whole time my mom has been telling me she already paid it but turns out she lied. Will I still get the child tax benefit? I work 50 hours a week and paying insane rent prices this benefit would help me a lot. Thanks

Don’t worry! You will still get the child tax benefit. Unfortunately though if you get the other government benefits like GST, Ontario Trillium etc those will go towards your OSAP now
@Rochelle risebrough Ive never got any other benefits for years. Carbon tax, GST etc always gets taken that’s why I was so worried about child tax 😞
@Jessie i completely get it! A year ago i was in the same boat! OSAP decided I wasn’t paying them enough monthly so they took all my extra benefits too but they are not allowed to take your child tax benefit because that is for your child technically and not the parent
