Neighbor creep watch

What age will you let your child go places (school, park , or store ) by themselves? I'm not. Question inspired by the 7 year old that was attacked at the park . She was with her brother.

Maybe 15

When I was a child we were allowed around age 6 or 7…. Even in NYC when I was with my father we would Go outside and be gone for hours in the park at that age…. But the way the world is now…. There is no way…. Unless it was a park in view of my home where I could easily see her. But even still I wouldn’t let her go alone until she was 8/9.

That's scary. And they let him out on bail? I lived in the worse part of Philly in the 90's. But I feel like that was safer than everywhere today.

I watched a couple of interviews of this. The little girl shares what happened to multiple news articles. Apparently, she ran all the way home while bleeding out because when she went to her grandma for help, the guy started going towards them. The guy will probably get off with an insanity plea and be sent home because of his age. Supposedly, he suffers from mental illnesses and has been missing before. Anyways, maybe 12 for some places, but it'd really depend on where and how far. I'm not totally sure.

Walking by themselves? At the very youngest 15-16. And I don’t even know about that!

I live in NYC, born and raised, and I don’t think I’d let my kid go anywhere by themselves till they’re a teen even though I went to school on my own since I was about 7-8 (bus and train). It’s just so different now unfortunately. Even as a grown ass woman I prefer to go out with my husband or someone else honestly.
