Playing with hair

My 17 month old uses my hair as a comforter and has for the longest time but it is getting to the point where my hair is just falling out I have bald spots everywhere and I want to cry. Currently i have it up covered in a towel and we are 2 hours into a tantrum as he can’t play with it he won’t sleep and is just screaming honestly I am losing the will to live I really don’t want to lose anymore hair but I have work in the morning I need to sleep I don’t know what to do Any suggestions/advice? I have tried teddies, dolls even a hair extension nothing works he wants my hair or nothing else
