I think I would try it. If it's focussed through play then I don't see the issue. No different to some nursery rhymes and reading books together etc. Unless I'm misunderstanding x

Maybe, I think it’d depend how it was done. We do those things at home/ nursery so would need to be a bit different to feel worthwhile.

I feel like when we go to groups at present, we go for fun. When it comes to circle/ story/ singing time Elaine can take it or leave it... often she leaves it, even though she loves reading 1 to 1 at home. Might be just that she doesn't like group activity 🤷🏼‍♀️

We would give it a go but there would be no pressure for my LO to learn. We keep things fun at this age if she actually learns something is a bonus if not, hopefully she’s had fun. And if she would not like it after the first couple of classes we would stop going.

I think there's quite a clear split between just for fun and a more educational group and diversity in your offer would be important. Honestly I'd love a group that's more of a parenting education group and would pay handsomely to learn from you how to teach certain things properly but then again I was a secondary school teacher and education is really important to me 🙈 I feel like we've stumbled our way through learning how to hold a pen properly for example and I know there'll be loads of these that come up that I'd like a hand knowing how to teach! I'd expect a more informal group to be more popular but not cost as much.

Regarding holding a pen correctly - Google “nip, flip, grip” as this is a helpful technique when they are learning. It will depend if the child is ready or not though - my nearly three year old is not ready for this yet x
