Maternity allowance

Those applying for maternity allowance (I’m self-employed) how long did it take you to hear back once you submitted your application? I’ve applied for mine to start early due to hyperemesis & not being able to actively run my business! Thank you

I’m am breastfeeding hopefully but if that doesn’t work I’m also using Aptamil. I used it with my daughter after Cow and Gate and SMA didn’t agree with her (both gave her a bad tummy and green poos). I know a lot of people use Kendamil, but for me locally I’ve realised every store sells Aptamil but not everywhere sells Kendamil so I’d rather go for the one more widely available where I live.

It took about 2-3 weeks to hear from them

Hiya I’m self employed & have also requested mine start as early as possible (lash tech and back starting to hurt). I posted my form back on the 27th of September. On the 30th of September I got a text to say they had received it and that I would hear back within 4 weeks. Yesterday I received a text to say the amount I will be paid (approx £184 weekly) and when I should receive my first payment (I’ve opted to get paid biweekly and my first payment covers 06/10 - 22/10 and I will be paid this within 5-10 working days it says) - hope this helps! Xx

@Alice this is really helpful! I applied around the same time as you and also received that text so hopefully they get in touch tomorrow or this week! Thanks so much

Your welcome! I requested payments to begin from 10 weeks before due date but they’ve done from the earliest you can take it which is 11 weeks before due date (not that it really matters much to me). Hoping I receive a letter outlining it a bit more in terms of how often and what days I’ll get paid etc as the text was very brief! But I’m just glad it’s gone through as quick as it has xx

I'm now worried that they haven't received mine :( sent it 04.10 and heard nothing. Is it ridiculous to call them tomorrow you think?

I sent mine 2 months ago and haven’t heard anything …:/ who do I call?
