Why so opinionated?

I’m putting this post up incognito as I don’t want the mum police to come at me, but I keep seeing so many people mum shaming on here and having so many opinions on someone else’s choices with their baby.. why? I don’t understand. If a mother decides she wants to wean her baby earlier than the NHS guidance says, then let her. I’m sure she’s read up on everything just like you have Karen, you’re not teaching her anything new, and quite frankly why do you care so much about someone else’s child? Sorry, it just really irritates me. I would NEVER make another mum feel stupid or doubt the choices she’s making for her child. Rant over 😮‍💨🫠

Agree so much!

As someone who’s been on the receiving end of the weaning police - thank you!! I posted incognito for that reason too and was just attacked like “your baby is far too young” “you’ll do more harm than good” and all I did was ask for advice because I’m a first time mam and had no idea what the “signs” were - not actually saying I’m weaning my baby at 3 months! It’s wild here I did not expect to be jumped on 😭😂

I think most of it is well intentioned to help people out when they aren’t aware of the signs etc…as Sophie said she didn’t know what they were. If you post on here asking for advice, you’re gonna get advice. Whether you like that advice or choose to follow it is up to you really! 😅

@Lauren that’s understandable if you actually get given the advice you ask for, however it’s not what I got when I asked, I basically got mam shamed for asking a question 🙄😅

@Sophie I guess it depends how you read the replies. I’d take most things with a pinch of salt on here, but sometimes people share some helpful information that you might not know about 🤷🏻‍♀️

Agree, I found some answers very judgemental too 😅 so many countries recommend complementary feeding at 4 months
