Appetite!

I’m interested to hear our experiences of hunger and appetite now that we’re almost at the end of the second trimester. This the advice on the NHS website: Being pregnant, you'll obviously be more hungry than usual, but even if you are expecting twins or more, you don't need to eat extra portions. In the final 3 months of your pregnancy, you'll need an extra 200 calories a day – that's the same as 2 slices of wholemeal toast and margarine. 🤔🤔🥲 so we’ll ’obviously’ be more hungry than usual but shouldn’t be eating any more? Personally, while I’m definitely not calorie counting, I know I’m generally eating more than pre-pregnancy! Even just down to making sure I get a full breakfast and nutritious snacks etc - never mind the occasional extra biscuits 😅

If I’m honest I’m not more hungry and don’t seem to be eating as much as I was pre-pregnancy as I feel really full very quickly! I’ve had days when I’ve felt really hungry and ate more but not many days... I’m 24 weeks and have put on about 8 pounds so far. I have a high bmi anyway so have been advised not to gain too much weight but I’m not restricting myself in any way and just eating what I want when I want.

Tbh, I eat what I want (within pregnancy restrictions) when I want 🤷🏻‍♀️ I refuse to restrict myself outside of what I’m allowed to eat. I want to enjoy my food for this period of time without guilt or worry. I’m 27+4 and generally very healthy. Good BMI at booking appointment. I’ve gained more weight than I’d have liked however haven’t filled out anywhere other than my stomach area and butt. I have no risk factors for GD and haven’t been tested for it so far because of this. If this changes then I’ll obvs look at my diet but until then, I’ll continue to be a 🐷 when I feel it 😂😁

I'm 28 weeks and starving some days. We need more calories to fuel the pregnancy, so it makes sense!

I'm now in my third trimester and I've definitely been getting hungrier! I don't think too much about it... If I'm hungry then I'll eat!

I have been starving since day one way more hungry scared for what this week brings if I'm Going to get more haha xx

I’m 27 weeks and honestly I’ve had no appetite these past 2-3 weeks. I’m carrying twins as well and I’m quite concerned how quickly I get full if I do eat and how I can go hours without eating something it’s making me feel stressed 😩
