Has anyone started with the aptimal baby rice at 5 months? Is it too early ? I want to give to my baby as they’ve shown interest in food.

My baby is showing interest in food too and sitting well enough and has good enough coordination to get food into her mouth so she is 100% ready to be able to eat. However, I’m still waiting till 6 months because I’m in absolutely no rush! I want her stomach to have the optimal time to develop before introducing something new. Each to their own and if you want to start if you think they’re ready go ahead, but what’s the rush? X

Don't do rice, do oat or wheat. Rice has lots of natural arsenic and no real benefits. Oat is great for healthy gut bacteria, and both oat and wheat reduce allergen sensitivity x

@Holly I will start feeding my baby too, he is 2 weeks always from 6 months. Where do you get your information from?

@Eliandra I made a huge list when I was pregnant with my first from about 50 weaning books and every single study I could find on allergens. I just refer to that now. Nowadays you can probably just ask bing 🤣

@Holly sounds really useful, I’ve been using Google

Rice can constipate but otherwise go for it! Mines been having breakfast porridge and is 5 months! Loves it and literally finishes the bowl clean.

I give my 5 month old Kendamil banana porridge in the morning and he loves it x

Start with veggies. Baby rice has no nutritional value and is empty calories x

@Toni I love this answer. I have 3 children and had to early wean my 1st at 4 months and his stomach issues for years were bad. I BLW weaned my daughter at 6 months and this time I could wait forever because I know as soon as it’s weaning time it’s actually double the work. Double the cleaning, double the everything 😂 happy him being a 5 month old baby that just enjoys his lovely milk

@Sara haha yep also in no rush for the extra dishes and probably having to hose the baby down hahah! X
