Transferring from Nutramigen to Oat Milk

My son is 10.5 month on Nutramigen and when I went to my last feeding appointment I was advised to start transferring him onto my preferred choice of milk. I have been using oat in foods and in small amounts uncooked so this is the one I am going for. However I was told he is drinking too much currently of thw Nutramigen having around 3 x 8oz during the day and still having around 9oz through the night. Has anyone else had this problem of needing to reduce the milk before transferring them onto oat? How did you get them to reduce it? I was told they will stop prescribing nutramigen when he hits 1 year old but only just been told this. Thanks (Photo so don't get lost)

So coming up to 11 months my son was on 3 9oz nutramigen a day and was told to start introducing our preferred alternative milk so I straight swapped his lunchtime bottle of formula for soya milk (is allergic to oats and doesn't like almond milk so used soya) and the first couple days he drank the lot then fell asleep for his lunch time nap. After a couple days of that he started not finishing his bottle before falling asleep so I replaced it with water and he would still fall asleep so I cut the lunch bottle out and stuck with 2 nutramigen at 9oz a day for two weeks then swapped his morning bottle one morning to soya milk and then two weeks later on his 1st birthday put him to bed with soya milk with no issues at all and cut out formula that way.

Great thankyou so much for your response 😀 It sounds like he did amazing and you too at doing the swap over! When you say straight swap did you just do a full bottle or oz by oz ? Thankyou ☺️ x

@abbie literally swapped the 9oz lunch bottle for 9oz soya milk and then the same with the morning and bedtime bottles
