If you’ve had your injection then there’s nothing to worry about and even if you haven’t it’s only like major trauma to your stomach where you should be concerned x

You can have sex

Absolutely fine. I'm in the same boat with Anti D. You're all good. It's more if you actually hit the bump. Like I fell on mine at 19 weeks and hit it with the corner of a wooden bed trying to lift it the other week. You get the injection after every bump to it but it needs to be an actual bump to it. I had a golden retriever hit mine and didn't think. They blood tested me because I'd missed the cut off for it. No problems at all. I've had sex all the way through my pregnancy no issues and actually my midwife checked if we were still having sex, said it's important for my MH 😂

Fine to have sex in any position as you like, when they say it could bleed during trauma they mean a car crash or being punched in stomach etc.

Definitely ok to have sex, I did have to have an anti D for post intercourse bleeding but that was down to the position we did at the time, probably very rare for it to happen but just something to be aware of x

@Rachel in fairness with negative mum to positive baby they do tell you to attend for an anti D after ANY bump to your bump. At all. The consultant gave me a right telling off because I didn't think to call after the dog caught it and as a result I missed the 3 day cut off for the injection. Which is why they needed to give me more blood tests to check if there had been any blood leaked into my own blood stream. I had a 2ml leak from it which was thankfully ok. It's not just the normal huge trauma to the bump like you mentioned. Hence why I had to have it when I bumped it on the bed and would have had to have it when the dog caught it with her paw.

@Bethan ah they didn't seem too bothered with my son, they said trauma could cause bleeding etc but would have to be a severe bump or hit to belly. Must be different at different trusts

Hey! It's totally normal to have these worries, but rest assured, your little boy is well protected in there. The bump is pretty resilient, so a bit of movement or pressure shouldn't harm him. If you're ever unsure, it's always good to check in with your healthcare provider for some extra reassurance. Your boy is safe and sound!

@Rachel oh yeah they'll jab me with Anti D at the slightest thing just in case. Only because I'm B- blood type though and they know the baby is positive. Did you have the same thing? You a negative blood type to a positive Baby? Because I think that's it. It's more that any tiny tiny bleed that wouldn't be a concern to others can trigger antibodies to be created by my body and would cause issues in subsequent pregnancies.

@Bethan yes I am rhesus negative and my son is positive so had the injection with him Me and this current baby are same blood so haven't had the whole needle in the bum cheek this time round. Yeah it stops your body rejecting your baby If he/she was to get a bleed.
