Kendamil issues and switching formula - how to do it

My LO is just over 3w old and we've been using Kendamil. He seems so uncomfortable and gassy all the time, I've tried MAM and Dr Brown bottles but no difference - I'm thinking the Kendamil is too rich, he isn't being sick or anything but is always trying to squeeze out farts. He's doing on average around one big poop a day (I've been told that's normal) but he does seem constipated imo. Thinking of trying Hipp organic. Has anyone made this switch and did you just do it overnight? I keep reading reviews on Reddit saying "overnight difference" but I'm not sure if that's literal 😅 should I be phasing it out? Thanks!

You don’t need to phase out the formula You can do a direct switch to Hipp Organic. If you are nervous and don’t want to buy a full tub immediately by ready made and go from there.

I just went from aptamil to kendamil and was fine

@Katie louise same i had issues with aptamil then switched to kendamill and looks more better now

Even mh boy is same was doing one poop a day with so much effort and gassy he was forcing himself so much that he turned purple and red then i changed he’s formula

i havent had any issues w Aussie bubs but due to shortage had to switch to kendamil so far no issues thankfully! but to switch you can phase out if you want (i did) or just switch it but depending on if youre switching from goat to milk based id phase it

I had same issue and went from Kendamil too Cow and Gate. He is so much better! I gradually added it in, so would add two bottles of cow and gate instead of all Kendamil bottles. Then kept doing more cow and gate bottles then Kendamil bottles, then just changed it fully. Hope that make sense :)

So from someone who switched formulas multiple Times. It is best that you don't do a direct switch as per my pediatrician as this can make their stomach problems worse (and it did for me). She said do one day with 1/4 of the new formula and then the rest old... Two days later do 1/2 new and the rest old... Then two days after that do 3/4 new...then two days after that full new formula.

I switched from kemdamil to bubs 365, I did bubs during the day and kendamil at night. Until I was out of kendamil

First of all, big gassy farts are a sign of a healthy digestive system. If he’s not in pain and crying then he’s doing great. Secondly, You can try Baby’s Only. It’s a bit cheaper but still completely organic. My bestie swears by it. I just use enfamil. Do half and half. But if you’re switching from one formula that’s very similar to the next think enfamil gentlease to similar total comfort there’s not gonna be a change and there’s not any reason to stagger it.

It’s a myth you can’t easily switch between formulas. Lucy Webber an infant feeding expect has more info on it, can find her on IG. I found Kendamil Goat to be softer on the tummy.

I switched straight from Kendamil to Hipp without phasing out & all was fine. Noticed she passed wind easier without the need for too much burping & her reflux is so much better!
