Do you think we(women) control how many kids we have?

My cousin is 34 with 7 kids and 1 on the way. She lives off the government, has 5 baby daddies and none of the kids are properly taken care of. Do you think there should be a limit on how many children women should have in order to prevent/reduce the chances of poverty, homelessness, etc. It’s sad and frustrating to see kids struggle due to their parents irresponsibility and not having enough money to provide for the children. I don’t have a desire to have more kids than I can afford as I want me and my child to live a comfortable life and able to do more than just survive. #justventingmyannoyances

Yes

No, I don't think the government should have any say in that. We've seen countries that have done that and in many cases turned into them favoring boys, leaving a lot of girls up for adoption or dumped in random places.

Nature controls how many babies that we can have. If I wanted to have more, I probably could. Since I'm choosing to defy nature, then my husband & I are doing what we can to prevent having more babies😅 I don't think that the government should have any say in how many babies are born each year. At the same time, I do think that those who are struggling should be able to get the help/support that they need to be able to provide & bring up their children. This is a childist world that we are living in, as children are often the last ones considered when, the government are making their decisions.

No, some people with lots of children do look after them. As long as they’re housed, fed and loved, that’s enough. Is she getting child support from all the bd?

I have realised that especially as a worker, we pay taxes etc if people are having kids and living on the government yes we are paying for those families and it's not fair because the parents should be looking after their family but it's just how life is. Hence why I'm going self employed because I don't want to keep working for a system that doesn't always favour workers Now having children and not having control, there are vulnerable women out there who are being forced to have children and it's not fair. There's alot of things happening and make the economy the way it is

@Life is Love if all those kids grow up and work she’ll have put more into the system long term 😜

@Life is Love you still have to pay tax when you're self employed (unless you don't earn enough). So you will still be contributing to the 'system that doesn't always work in your favour'.

@Molly absolutely, children are blessings. I too was had to be on the government money back in my early days as a teen mother. It does pay off

@Sarah🦄 your right I will be paying self employment tax only difference is how I feel when I lay at bed at night knowing I worked for my dream and not someone else's

@Life is Love that's a good point! What business are you setting up?

I think my question was a little confusing, I meant do we as women control how many kids we have. Not the government.

@Molly that’s the point. No child support from the bds at all and these kids barely have clothes and food and aren’t properly taken care of. I.e. she doesn’t wash their hair, buy them clothes, etc, she just lay up make more babies without taking care of the ones she already has.

In MOST cases women can have control on how many kids they have some people say I'm only having 1 and that's all they have. Everyone's situations are different though I'm 34 with 2 kids that I've birthed and a sd I would love more kids but at the moment we are not financially stable and our economy is wacked with that said I know I cannot bring up another kid so contraceptives is my way of being in control.
