Anxiety around going out

Our baby has always been hard work in the pram and the car. She has never been able to just sit there for longer than 30 minutes or so. I dread going out places unless it is somewhere she can go off and play as she will just cry and we'll have to carry her but then she wants to go down etc, just a vicious circle. I find I can't enjoy going anywhere which is starting to affect me. For instance we went into the city centre today and I just wanted to rush everywhere so we could go home although I can't stand being in the house all day. She fell asleep in the pram which is rare for her but then any noises just wound me up and I felt like we couldn't go in any shops as she would wake and she has never been a good sleeper so that would have an affect on her night 🤦🏼‍♀️ Just wondering if anyone else has ever felt the same or whether anyone has any tips on managing my feelings? Just fed up of being in a bad mood and stressed wherever we go!

My baby is similar and holding her helps to an extent, but sometimes even that doesn’t work. I tend to only go places that (a) I know where the exits are and (b) are less busy. I managed to go to a few supermarkets last week and she managed fine which shocked me. Today we were in a cafe and she was crying/screaming. It’s very unpredictable! I’ve used ear defenders and they don’t help much either. In the car, I used to play the Happy song. I played it at home a lot and then would play it in the car. She’s now happy with just the radio going.

@Bee It is so hard isn't it 😮‍💨 we also play the happy song and it does help sometimes!

It’s so difficult and sometimes I feel awful. People tell me I need to get baby used to loud busy spaces and I’m like how??? A few friends have babies who cried when they were little and it reassures me when I see how sociable they are now as 5/6/7 year olds
