Birth control

Before pregnancy I was soo against bc. Now that we have our little guy, we really don’t want to get pregnant again. My birthing experience was a little traumatic for me. At my 6 week appointment I turned down bc but now we don’t want to have sex. I need a bc that won’t cause to much acne(I have a clear face and in the past the pills killed my face) and one that works good with Lexapro. I hate the depo, super bad experience. And could do the pills but I always had the worst acne on pills. Would a non-hormonal work the best for me? Please educate me to pick the best one 🥲

I’m just going to use condoms I don’t want to deal with hormones again. Or the one where you check your temp daily and it tells u when you’re gonna ovulate and all that.

Every person reacts differently to bc so it’s hard to say. I’ve had bad experiences with most and then I got then nexplanon and it was great for me. Even tho I heard terrible things abt it

I loved my Mirena before getting pregnant. There are non hormonal IUDs too! If you get one def take pain meds before insertion

I opted for the mini pill this time because I’m breastfeeding, it’s only 1 hormone vs 2. There’s lots of different kinds of pills. My other choices would’ve been the IUDs, Mirena (higher dose) or kyleena (lower dose) because they stay in place for years. There’s also the copper IUD but that one makes cramps worse which I would not want because mine are already bad.

I love my nexplanon!!! I have really clear skin, they told me it wouldn’t affect that & it sure didnt!

@Samolly I keep hearing good things about the nexplanon! Im starting to really consider it. Was it painful to get in the arm? Did your periods get worse or better?

@Katrina I never had bad periods, the worst would be getting a migraine every other month before it starts so I wouldn’t mind the cramps to much

@Trinity no, it wasn’t painful at all! They numb the area before putting it in. My period got better. Maybe just spotting instead of a period.
