i’m so frustrated

my daughter stopped drinking her formula at 8 months (she’s 10 months now) i have been upping her solids and trying to give her healthy meals and snacks. but she just gets so picky sometimes. this morning i make her broccoli cheddar cheese breakfast muffins with fresh strawberry yogurt, and i was so excited for her to eat it and i put her in her chair and she just wants to tip her plate upside down so i try to have her keep it on the table and then she gets pissed. finally i i get the plate away and just put her food on the table. she tries maybe one bite then just smashes it everywhere and drinks all of her water she had. so no she has no food in her and just water. i’m just frustrated and i know i shouldn’t be frustrated at her it’s not her fault and she’s just a baby, but im just frustrated at the fact that im not thriving at being a mother and she’s not thriving on milk and it’s so stressful worrying about her nutrition and her getting enough of what she needs. i’ve talked to dietitians and pediatricians and it just hasn’t been much help.

girl don’t stress it. i have went out of my way to make a nutritious and tasty breakfast for my kids ( and i am not a morning person so it takes a lot out of me lol). and they don’t eat a bite and just eat some fruit and milk. but they will eat stupid frozen mini pancakes so i compromise with them lol. kids are funky about food so dont get discouraged. if they like something basic just make that and build a healthy meal around it. sometimes it just isn’t worth the time and effort bc they don’t understand. nor care unfortunately. 🙂 as long as she’s growing and staying a consistent weight then i wouldn’t worry. i use to be so obsessed with calories and making sure they got enough fat and proteins i would stress myself out. offer healthy options, but just get in what you can 🫶

offer milk at breakfast lunch and dinner and theyll have enough protein for the day. if you make eggs add heavy cream or milk. make it with butter. that way they’re getting extra calories without making the food much different

@luu🤎 thank you! 💛 it is such a battle! i’ll try adding more calories

I stopped all milk at 9 months and everyone said that was fine as long as she’s getting nutrients from food. She didn’t eat the same amount everyday, sometimes she eats so much and sometimes barely any food. I usually make a big portion of food and give her some of that because it does feel like a waste of effort to make something really complex specifically for her and then she refuses it. As long as she’s a normal weight and happy don’t worry about it. You can always add multi vitamins into some of her food if you’re worried

ur welcome! 😇
