Life insurance

I’m pretty clueless and need to start doing some research as feel we need to get life insurance now we have our LO. If anyone has any advice / recommendations that would be great. Especially as me and babies dad have been together a while, but are not married - does that make a difference? Thank you x

I took out life insurance with polly. Mainly because if ever my daughter is seriously ill and I can't work I get a lump sum from them to cover my bills while I'm off work, you can choose your beneficiary I've put my husband and daughters names down. My husband already had his own life insurance

My partner is a financial advisor and found me a really good policy with vitality. It has all the usual aspects regarding lump sums if I pass away, but I also get £100 each day if my son is in hospital to cover parking, food etc. If my son gets badly ill then we get a lump sum, and if I get diagnosed with any critical illnesses then we get a big lump sum which doesn’t need to be paid back if I recover. I tried finding policies myself but just found it an absolute minefield as there’s so many to compare, so feel free to drop me a message if you need a hand and my partner can help you (free of charge) x

I went with Polly as they cater specifically for mums 😊

@Morgan how much does your cover come to per month? Not exact if you don't mind sharing, just trying to get an idea if costing an arm and a leg or decent amount

We sorted ours with our mortgage advisor at point of buying our house. It already had cover for children so we didn’t need to change it. We’re with LV and picked the mid level option where we get a lump sum, but not complete critical illness cover as we couldn’t afford it at the time - we want to upgrade to to this cover in future though
