Not baby related as such just desperately needing advicešŸ«¶šŸ¼

Iā€™m 4 and a half months postpartum and the last week Iā€™ve been so unhappy with my hair and itā€™s just making me so sad, it falls out when I touch it, wash it! I have extremely bad dandruff making it look horrible and dirtyšŸ˜ my hair on top is shorter than my actual hair and itā€™s just all frizzyšŸ˜© I could cry honestly so unhappy:( will dying it help or make the situation worse?

I feel the exact same! And around the same postpartum I am petrified of washing my hair and feel so gross not washing it! My scalp is so dry, my hair is dry and it just falls out! šŸ˜ i wanted to dye mine but have a feeling itā€™ll just break off so im holding off for a while as i donā€™t want it to break off! I literally just plait my hair and leave it alone brush it in the morning and before bed! Sounds real gross but I havenā€™t washed my hair in forever because Iā€™m petrified of how much will come out as I lose so much already! X

@Leonna mines the exact samešŸ˜ what shampoo and conditioner do you use? I used to love my hair so much and recently Iā€™m just hating it, makes me wanna cry everytime I look in the mirroršŸ˜© my hair on top is just so much shorted than my actual hair and I just donā€™t understand whyšŸ˜

Have you got some vitamins? The hair burst ones are really good! Iā€™ve found they helped me! Itā€™s awful! I feel for you! But personally wouldnā€™t dye it. Iā€™ve been using hair masks & slicking my hair back & try the Nina bell hair brush (can get on Amazon) - doesnā€™t pull on your hair! X

It's likely that you're not losing your hair, more that you're losing what grew extra during pregnancy. Mine got thicker during pregnancy and now I'm losing loads because it's returning to it's original thickness. Dying usually does more damage than good unless it's bright colours because for some reason they condition the hair really well. Use tea tree shampoo, it's a natural antifungal and I find it really helps keep it all at bay. If you brush it once every 4 days then you'll think you're losing loads but if you're brushing gently every day it won't look like as much. It will sort itself out eventually, just be grateful you dont look as bad as the babies with their silly bald patches and tutfs sticking up in all directions!

Someone I know was losing what felt like a lot of hair PP so she had her iron levels checked by the doctor x

Mine has become a nightmare too! Iā€™m finding it all around the house and itā€™s constantly getting on the baby - im always checking her hands for my hair lol! Iā€™m just letting it be as I think some hair loss is normal, but you could try some of the hair loss vitamins and hair masks if itā€™s getting you down. X

To add, try a silk or satin pillow case and bonnet for bed, Iā€™ve used them for years as Iā€™ve got curls and they really make a difference!

Mines falling out when wet and when I brush it when itā€™s wet but when dry it doesnt come out as much.
