Barking Riverside Residents

What is it like living there? I’m considering to move there, I’ve had a look at the area, although there’s barely any shops etc and so on it looks really nice. My only concern is complaints I’ve read about toxic fumes and smells, it had a little bit of a sulphur smell when I went to have a look at the park by Winter Road but was tolerable. I’m worried since the rent is suspiciously low. It’s going to be extremely difficult to move out once we’re in so want to be cautious.

My sister used to live there and it was honestly lovely

May I ask where you were able to find the rental properties x

@Sophie how long ago did she move out? I’ve heard there’s a mosquito infestation 😣 https://lqhomes.com/renting-with-lq/ You can rent through them

I live here! Absolutely love it - you’re right that the area is still growing, so it only has one coop, a river side restaurant, a coffee shop and a couple food trucks, but they have plans to add more. I’ve noticed the smell once in a while, perhaps approx once every couple months? But personally hasn’t been an issue for me

@Orpa thank you! It looks like a really good place to bring up a family, I can picture my son having the best childhood with so much greenery around where our possible, future building is located. My only concerns are the mosquitoes but will be looking for solutions for that and the parking 😅

Yes the mosquitoes are a bit annoying in the summer (though not excessive), I assume due to the river and all the greenery. Regarding parking you should def try and get a flat/house that has a parking bay with it (it’ll make life a lot easier)
