Tommy's clinic referal

Hi all looking for some help. After my 4th MC my early pregnancy midwife suggested we try and get referred to a Tommy's clinic. I contacted Tommy's who said this is through your GP. Went to the GP yesterday (a locum, we haven't had a permenant GP at our surgery for nearly 3 years!) he said he can't do the referral as the system Tommy's said to use "Choose and book" doesn't exist in Scotland. I am not sure he's right at the Tommy's midwife knew I was in Scotland. So now not sure where to go from here. My GP didn't even know what/who Tommy's were! Sent me away to find out how to get the referral myself!! Feel like once again we are being dismissed and sideline. We are nearly two years into this process and no further forward. So any help would be much appreciated. Hoping to be referred to the Birmingham clinic. Back story, was referred to recurrent miscarriage clinic here in Scotland, however they say they have completed their tests and have nothing else to offer. Hence looking for the next option. There are lots of other tests tye Tommy's clinic can offer and treatments in some cases so feel like it's worth a shot. Also my GP can't find details of the blood tests that were done by then RMC, really frustrating as I wanted to take them with me to the Tommy's clinic. At this point I feel like we are getting substandard treatment! Anyhow, sorry for rant I am just so frustrated. Does anyone have any advice on how to get a referral?

I understand this is their email address. Ask them how to do it. Hope it works

@Mariama thanks, yes thats who I emailed. Though they said I need GP referral... Which is seeming difficult to get right now.

Oh, I see. I'm sorry. I don't know what to suggest. Someone else may in a bit

Have you seen this page on the Tommy’s website about how to get a referral? You meet the criteria so GP needs to follow the instructions for the Birmingham clinic i.e. GP to submit an 'Advice and Guidance' request and ensure they 'allow to convert to referral'. Patients in Scotland are eligible. There is also an email address for the medical secretary of this clinic who could presumably offer more guidance on getting a referral. https://www.tommys.org/our-research/referrals-our-clinics/referrals-our-miscarriage-clinics

Yep I know, I showed my GP that exact page...... Still nothing! He said he didn't know where to send it/how to do it. I said about the secretary as well! Honestly, I think I am going to have to raise a complaint, it's not the first time locum GPS have given me bad advice on this issue or delayed my treatment/referalls due to lack of knowledge. So frustrating!

Oh no, sorry I can’t be of more help! Definitely keep pushing them. It must be so frustrating xx

No thankyou! It's good to know what I think should be happening is what others think too. And I will, just frustrated it's all wasting my time! 😭
