Tips on newborns

I’m gonna be completely honest this is my first and last baby I could use all the tips on newborns. I understand all babies are gonna be different but it might work with my little girl.

Make sure to practice good oral hygiene from day 1. Always wipe baby’s tongue and gums at least once a day. Try for after each feeding. Failure to do so could result in oral thrush

And congratulations!

@Shani thank you

Take a thirty second video of them breathing normally so if anything ever seems off you’ll know. Make sure you burp them after each feeding and if they have reflux keep them upright for 10-20 minutes.

I know everyone has their own opinions on co sleeping, but there are safe ways (ex a bassinet that fits perfectly next to your bed). Co sleeping with my daughter ended up helping the both of us. At first I would get so annoyed and the longer time went on the more irritated I got. I was too busy listening to my family, "let her cry it out", instead of my own heart and gut. I was so exhausted the first few months because of lack of sleep. I was starting to hallucinate in ways believe it or not because of how sleep deprived I was. But I decided to do my own research and trust my own gut and co slept with my daughter. I had to realize that my daughter was growing inside me for 9 months, so all she knows is me, my heart beat, my scent, my warmth... That's all she wanted and needed. I did still continue to try to put her in her own room every night and I still do but of course I'm up with her still to this day. Now though, she is 2 and actually tells me she wants me to sleep with her, and I do and enjoy every min.

Make sure to give yourself grace and take whatever breaks come your way! You will need them! Don't be afraid to ask for help!

Speak up when you need a break! If you have a good support system use them and appreciate them! If you feel down or need to talk, reach out immediately don’t wait! This is normal your body goes through a lot chemically suddenly! If you don’t have a support system message me I’m here!

Thank you so very much ❤️❤️❤️

What exactly are you needing tips on ? I have three little ones by youngest is 4M. but each of my kiddos have been different as a infant, so maybe I could help you 💖

@Anna The best advice I could give a new mom is have patience.

@Anna If you feel overwhelmed when your baby is crying. It’s important to take a break and take a breather so you won’t get frustrated.
