Glucose test

Does anyone know how the 3 hour glucose test works as far as what’s passing and what’s failing? I missed the call from my doctor and now they’re closed until Tuesday. I’m trying to understand my lab results but I’m confused and I feel like I failed.

I’d have to see the test results to give you any insight

Was this a fasting or no fasting glucose test?

Those are my 4 blood draws. My fasting one and my second after the drink are in the “high” range

And then my 3 hour is like way below 😩. And I hate that I’m BARELY over that high range 😭

I guess I’m basically asking how many blood draws out of the 4 have to be in the normal range to be considered a pass

@Clara fasting

It’s a little high considering you were fasting. If you had anything even a bite or sip of something other than water it could affect it. It’s not concerningly high but it is something to discuss with your dr the next time you see them.

I had GD in my first pregnancy. From what I remember, if you have 2 high numbers on the 3 hour you get the diagnosis. They may ask you to start testing your blood sugar daily for a couple of weeks to confirm it. No matter what I did or ate, my fasting numbers were elevated. I needed insulin, but after I started it…my numbers were well controlled. My daughter was a healthy weight and we had no complications from the GD.

I have GD and only my fasting sugar was high. I’m now on insulin daily to try and regulate it. I’d say the number on the bottom of the line eg 95 is acceptable and yours was 99 if that makes sense.

According to my Dr you would have failed. At my point reactive you automatically fail if you fail fasting or fail 2 draws. Since you failed both fasting and your 2hr it’s a fail, even though they are so borderline
