Refreezing baby fruits or veggies

I’m reading this book and it has mentioned that i do not refreeze baby food. I unthaw the jars I have in a pot then I take out what she will eat then freeze the rest of it that I didn’t use or put in her bowl or plate. I know that I heard it can cause bacteria. But I had look it up it said the food that baby didn’t eat not the ones I reheat a few times?

Where did you get this book ??

It’s similar to freezing breastmilk. When you unthaw breastmilk it shouldn’t be refrozen and drank within 24 hrs. Once you warm it it has a shelf life of 2hrs once baby starts drinking it needs to be drank or dumped within 1hr because of bacteria. I know the rules around food are similar but I’m not sure of the specifics

If you can freeze in smaller portions you'll save the water and can just the what you need but don't re freeze I've defrosted. It should be ok 24 hours in the fridge once defrosted so if needed you could offer what's left the next day

@Armani my sister in law gave it to me.

@Armani I get what you’re saying. I never really thought about that but it 100% makes sense. Will my baby be okay? I would reheat it up a few times within like 2 weeks not knowing that it could cause bacteria. I’m so angry at myself for not knowing it’s common sense 🤦‍♀️

@Flo I am probably going to save them in smaller portions. So they can be used up quicker, I don’t go to the store like that as I have to depend on other people, so I thought freezing them would help save me some time till I go next. But I now know not to reheat thank you.

Freeze in smaller portions and only take out what you need. And don't keep reheating the same food. Only re-heat the portion you know your baby will eat. Less is best, you can always go back for a few more spoonfuls if they are still hungry x

I use ice cubes to freeze my baby’s food and transfer it into zip lock bags and take out 2-3 ice cubes and defrost them and that way you aren’t thawing everything out but just what you need☺️x

@Cocoabear24 is the book good, do you rate it?

@Emma it’s decent, gives you recipes and knowledge about baby food! I probably rate it a 7 or 8 :)

@Julia that is a good idea thank you for sharing your method!

@Ellie I didnt know that, I couldn’t reheat frozen foods over again yes! Can’t always get less but you can always get more.

@Armani I have the same book! Bought it on Amazon (:
