Did you get a marriage certificate?
@Carlene Langley she gave us something to hand in to get the liscence. I didn't know she had to register it .
Then what u handed in was probably it . My officiant did it for me 🤷♀️
I might be wrong but I’m pretty certain you can’t be legally married without witnesses?
@Emilie depending on what country they're in. In the US, some states don't require a witness...some allow dogs to be the witness 😂!
Not every officiant will submit it for you, ours didn’t and we had to mail everything off ourselves. Then it took almost 6 weeks to actually receive the license.
@Emilie you don’t need a witness or an officiant in Washington, DC specifically.
mine was exactly how yours went. we didnt need any witnesses but did have my family there for support . we signed a paper that he was going to turn in then told us to send an application and pay to receive a copy of our marriage certificate from the state vital of records. I live in Virginia.
Did you get a marriage license?
@Monét yea just found it. It says certificate and liscence. I didn't even remember anything. We did it right after I had my child my memory was so bad.
@Carlene Langley yea my officiant was in a rush she didn't care about us after the ceremony.
@Samantha wait mail what off? We submitted everything the same day at the same place and got it on the spot. We only needed our id and birth certificate.
@Mushroom ok maybe some states don't require it. I'm in CT
