Weaning and disliking all food

Has anyone else started weaning and baby just dislikes all the food? Only been doing it for 2 weeks and small tastes I’m also doing BLW with a mix. So for example if I give broccoli I’ll give them some to eat BLW with their hands and also offer it mashed up for me to feed. Baby will transfer the food into mouth to chomp but if they physically swallow any they pull a face, shudder then spit it out like a child does when they bite a lemon … for every food we’ve tried, broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, bananas etc Tell me this is normal 😭 My mum told me to stop and just start with baby porridge (which I haven’t tried as I’m following BLW guide) thinking of introducing alongside BLW as another meal (considering baby is eating nothing) just worried looking at other people’s posts today that my baby just will never like food - FTM & overthinker.

We started with baby porridge the same make as the milk she’s on ☺️ she now eats anything and everything x

But also don’t forget they’re used to milk and have no idea or conception of ‘eating’ it a just a case of baby getting used to xx

It's normal to pull a face for new foods it's more the shock of the new flavor and texture than them not looking it just keep offering and they will get used to it. Up to you but personally I wouldn't just offer porridge you'll just have the same face pulling etc when you switch to food. I can't remember the number but it takes multiple tests for each food to know if they genuinely don't like it

My girl had shivered and shuddered at absolutely everything that has gone in her mouth, sometimes even when it touched her lips 😂 She is starting to bite bits off when doing BLW now, but then seems livid it’s in her mouth, moves it around a bit then often just spits it back out. We have been doing a bit of spoon feeding and funnily the kendmill porridge and then wheatabix has been the most she’s swallowed of any food so far 🙈 I let her self feed and I’m spoon feeding her some as well then. I think it’s all normal and part of the process while she’s sussing all the new stuff out x

I can relate to your post and Kirsten’s comment. My LG is the same, feels disappointing tbh 😭😭 but I keep trying new things everyday

I think you are doing the right thing, just keep persevering. My little girl is similar. She will put the finger food in her mouth but then pulls a face and if there is any piece on her tongue, she moans 😂 we've had lots of gagging too but I know it's totally normal. My little boy was the same, he's now nearly 2 and a half and I have no issues with his eating. They will get it eventually, it just may take longer than others, try not to focus on other people's weaning journeys and they are all different. I've tried porridge with my girl (same make as her formula) and she doesn't like it any more than she does the other food. Try it but don't feel pressure 😊

Thank you so much everyone! I agree it’s very early I just was expecting baby to at least like something 😂 I don’t want to give up BLW, but might also introduce porridge x

If it makes you feel better my baby only likes Cadburys chocolate and will cry when you eat it infront of her and don’t give her none any other food is a no 😂🥹

My baby loves fruit purees but she wasn't too keen on the cheesy potato and spinach

@Sophie I’m doing the how to wean your baby and the first 10 days is veg, but I did give banana puree … wasn’t a fan 🙃 I think I need to just give it try I read babies only know they like something after like 20 try’s! Here’s hoping 🤞
