holiday with a baby

Hi everyone, im going away soon with my 13 month old for 2 weeks. I feel like there’s just too much stuff we need to bring. I’m considering vacuum packing some of my clothes. Has anyone done this in their suitcase before? Is it ok? Thanks All!

I vacuum packed and I’ll tell you that it did not make much of a difference. Actually made no difference what so ever. I rolled one side of the bag and laid everything flat the zip side on my return and it was sooooo much better. Idk if the small packing bags where you make outfits and pack them in small zipped bags makes a difference but I’ll experiment that when I’ve returned to work and can pay for the bags and a holiday 🤣good luck x

@Fay oh no I was hoping I’d save lots of space 🤣 but I’ll look into those individual ones thank you for the idea! Bless, wishing you a holiday soon 😄 x

If your flying you can order nappies and wipes at boots to pick up after security which saves a ton of space x

@Jessica we’re taking our cabin approved pushchair as one hand luggage and a back pack as the other. Our little one doesn’t get hand luggage. So I don’t know how I’d be able to fit enough nappies and wipes in that one back pack 😭

You don’t need to put them in the bag you can carry them in a carrier bag, like if you had done some shopping before the flight

Your LO gets a changing bag to take on to

@Jessica omg I didn’t know that! Thank you so much

Vacuum packing can be a great idea when traveling with a baby! It helps save space in your luggage and keeps things organised. The pros are that it saves space, keeps items compact, and can help you pack more efficiently. However, some cons could be that vacuum-sealed items might wrinkle clothes or compress soft items too much. Just make sure not to pack things too tightly, especially if you're including baby essentials like clothes or blankets. It's a handy trick for maximising space, just be mindful of what you're packing!

@Shannon I will do! Thank you for replying ☺️
