Can’t find plastic free bottles?

Shouldn't you not be using boiling water for formula anyway? It should be 70° Regardless, we heat our milk in reusable silicone bags, then add it to the plastic bottles once warm

curious, is there a reason why you want bottles where the milk can’t touch any plastic? just wondering if plastic bottles are bad or something? x

@Sophie plastic is known and proven to leach chemicals and microplastics particularly when heated, even if they say BPA free doesn’t mean they’re free from other chemicals. @Emmo I’ve read mixed views on this - 70 degrees to still kill bacteria and safeguard nutrients, or just hit it with boiling water. Not clear from NHS as it just says leave to cool to no less than 70C but doesn’t say it should be cooled to that temp. Checking water temp is one extra step I don’t want to do personally

If you get the Nuby rapid cool is cold the formula to drinking temperature before ever adding to a bottle so you don't have to worry about measuring the temp. I only very rarely use formula, but we use the rapid cool

interesting, u would think if they were dangerous they would be stopped, at least 80% of bottles are plastic i mean haven’t they always been? i feel like some things must be made up to scare people cos i’ve never heard of the plastic in bottles to be dangerous

@Sophie Ha, who would stop them? Corporations have a lot of power. It takes ages for governments to catch up with regulation. It took a long time to get companies to remove BPA from baby bottles - it’s only been illegal since 2012. You might have a lot of trust in big companies but I’m interested in what the science says. Also, it’s clear that a lot is going wrong considering the increase in cancer rates and infertility among other illnesses particularly in young populations.

@Emmo yea fair that’s one way to do it. I combi feed also and go through a lot of bottles as baby has taken a long time to get used to the boob and I often use the hot shot method to save time, so atm water goes in the bottle first with formula. But should probably use the rapid cool more. Think mine is a bit defective as it only ever has a green light.
