Not having vitamins

My son will not have his vitamins! I mix it with his water but he just gags at then refuses it. He’s started refusing any water now as he thinks it’s got his vitamins in 😩 what can I do? Thanks!

I mix the vitamins in with LOs porridge, it hides the taste better as I usually flavour his porridge with fruit or peanut butter as well.

Maybe change the flavor of the vitamins you get? We used to have different flavors like cherry, caramel, and bubblegum. I never mixed with anything just squirted it into baby’s mouth.

I use the healthy start drops too but I use them with a pipette instead and have taken the dropper it comes with off and just use the pipette to put a teeny bit straight into her mouth each morning with her nappy change…she loves it and is always trying to find the pipette to put it in her mouth for more 🤣

I give the Abidec vitamins on a normal teaspoon… for some reason he’ll take it with no fuss from there but will absolutely refuse from the syringe thing, never tried mixing it with anything

Amazing, thanks! We use the wellababy ones which explicitly says to mix it in water or milk so I’ll try in porridge maybe and if not then I’ll get the healthy start ones 😊

I think the wellbaby ones have stronger and weird flavour as they have iron in them. All the others mentioned don’t so taste pretty inoffensive x

Wait we are meant to be giving them vitamins?!

I have a wee vitamin supplement that I make into jelly babies, I mix it in to fruit juice with gelatine and my wee one absolutely loves them

I put them in his milk and he’s never noticed 😆

My little one was the same! I mix it into yoghurt now and she wolfs it down 😂

I use wellbaby in my little one’s milk does the trick

@Charlotte yes hun

@Annabel https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/other-health-services/healthy-start-vitamins If you go on here and put your postcode in it’ll tell you where you can get it for free

@Ahbeda thank you. I think I already looked into this and to get them free you have to have an NHS healthy start card which you can only get if you're on universal credit.

Could you try hiding in his milk? We switched to doing this instead of water and LO now takes them :)

@Kavita I’m still breastfeeding and he won’t touch any other milk from a cup so unfortunately not 😭
