Weaning

My baby is 6 months and we’re ready to start weaning. She has already tried broccoli a few times which she seems to really enjoy My question is do we start feeding 3 meals straight away? Or did you start with just adding one meal Also can I only introduce one new food every 3 days or is that just for main allergens?

When you start weaning the first month should be single fruits and veg to see if baby is allergic to anything. Then you can start introducing allergens and I done 1 allergen for 3 days. And also you only start with 1 meal a day and then slowly up it x

1 meal at 6 months, 2 meals by 9 months, and 3 meals by 12 months with a couple of healthy snacks

@Julia Thank you

@Becky thank you

@Chloe you're welcome

Also don't worry or stress of some days they don't wanna eat its totally normal, or even of they just wanna play about with it that's also totally normal

You don’t have to start with single fruits and veg, you can start straight away with proper meals if you like (baby led weaning), most people start with 1 meal then gradually increase to 3 over the following weeks. You can introduce as many foods as you want, unless you or your partner have any allergies in which case you would probably need to introduce the main allergens separately

There are so many different ways to start so anything you are comfortable with is best! If baby doesn’t have teeth yet I’d definitely start with Purees. Vegetables and fruit are great for the first year. But up to you what you give ☺️

Hey! That's great to hear you're starting the weaning journey with your little one! It's usually recommended to start with one meal a day and gradually increase to two and then three meals as she gets used to it. This way, you can monitor how she reacts to new foods. As for introducing new foods, the guideline of waiting three days is generally for potential allergens, like peanuts, eggs, and dairy. For other foods, you can introduce them at your own pace, but it's still a good idea to watch for any reactions. Enjoy this exciting time with your baby! 🥦🍽️
