@Danielle What's Graze?
It’s when you put food out that they can reach and they stop and eat as they wish.
my boy is the same way. sometimes i make him smoothies and put some veggies in there
Was going to say smoothies as well but as long as he’s growing and gaining the weight he should be I wouldn’t worry too much. My middle child has a selected food she will eat and most dinners she would have was oatmeal, cereal and if she did eat a little of what I did made I would offer a peanut butter sandwich.
What’s he drinking? Water?
Smoothies! Really helped when my boy was like this. I did banana, coconut cream, a tiny bit of spinach and some frozen berries or mango. You just need to add something a little fatty like avocado or coconut milk, or even peanut butter or Nutella, and blend it with whatever fruit he likes and a bit of milk to thin it a little. Before any milk or drinks in the morning I would offer this smoothie and he would drink most of it! Sometimes wanting a second cup
@Rebecca he won't drink water for some reason unless I mix it with his juice. I don't know why
@Makaylla Oh yeah, when kids get juice, it’s all they want lol. Maybe do what I did with milk and keep adding more and more water each day till they’re basically just drinking water and can’t remember why they liked it in the first place. I can’t give my daughter juice or she cries and cries for more and I can’t get her to eat/drink anything else.
Give food before fluids. Require him to eat half his food before getting a drink
My son will be 3 next week and he still drinks more than he eats. I give him smoothies and porridge to make sure he’s well nourished. His pediatrician said it’s fine that he still drinks more than he eats. I also let him graze too
Our pediatrician recommended cutting back on milk to get our son to eat more food. And always give him something he likes along with a new food to try
Maybe give him less liquid in the cup and let him graze. It’s messy but kids eat better when they’re allowed to graze.
