Emotional

Has anyone else been just super emotional since giving birth? Had my baby on Sunday, a week early! My waters broke Saturday at 12:40am and went to hospital to find baby had pood in me so had to stay in, they had to force labour with the hormone drip and I only had gas and air throughout (my own choice), but 24 hours later and it came to pushing, my body just gave up and I couldn’t do it so I had to have an emergency c section. Today especially I’ve just been crying so much, literally over everything and I just feel so bad that I’m crying because I feel like, why should I cry when I’ve got everything I’ve ever wanted☹️ I know my hormones are going to be everywhere and settling down etc but I feel so useless because I’m in pain with my back due to sleeping sitting upright out of fear that I’ll hurt my stitching if I sleep on my side 😭

Postpartum is hard I remember feeling just like this. I cried everyday even over small things. Try and stay on top of pain relief and rest when u can which is I know is so hard with a baby. Good luck x

I was in labor for 30 hrs and I ended up having to have a c section. Literally I was emotional from the day I gave birth until a week after I got home. It’s not just you mama!❤️ I also had the stress of trying to breastfeed and for my mental health I had to switch to pumping/supplementing so I cried thinking I just didn’t have what it took to provide for my baby. Also you are EXHAUSTED! You may feel relief from having the baby but your body and mind have worked so hard it’s taken a toll. Go easy on yourself! It’s okay to cry I hope you have someone there to support you! My bf had to literally have the nurse take the baby to the nursery for a night because I wasn’t sleeping and that was the best thing he could have done for me. Woke up a new person the next day (even though I bawled when she took my baby away😂). Find support and rest💓the baby blues are normal!

This is so normal. They call it the baby blues - will (hopefully) only last around 2 weeks. I experienced the same, and also had an emergency c-section so felt useless too! But you’re not useless, you are your baby’s world and everything! This too shall pass and you’ll feel much better. And if it lasts longer than 2-3 weeks, speak to your Health Visitor about getting some support. Sending you lots of love! You’ve got this mama.

Totally normal especially around day 3/4 when your milk comes in, don’t worry you’re not losing the plot just a hell of a lot of hormones 💕

I cried for a month straight! Even now, 14 months later I still cry very easily. Motherhood broke me 🤣🤣

I would cry randomly at all times the first two weeks after birth (C-section). It’s normal but it’s horrible. Talk to your OB. I am not a fan of meds, but they really really helped me feel sane in the short window pp.

I cried everyday for a week but then my milk supply diminished and I haven't even wanted to cry since. I'm 2 weeks postpartum.

The baby blues is the most deceptively named thing on planet earth as it can be horrendous. After my first I just cried constantly for 10 days straight, I permanently had a soaked muslin in my hand to mop up my tears. I didn’t even feel ‘sad’, just so emotional and all over the shop. We’re all with you and sending love 💕 you will absolutely wake up one day soon feeling much much better
