Venting
As a first-time mom to an 8-month-old, I’ve had a challenging journey. During my pregnancy, my partner left in the first trimester, which led to a lot of anxiety and depression. I couldn’t work during my pregnancy due to my job letting me go last year November and it took a toll on my social skills. On top of that, I lost my car 3 months after due to transmission issues , so things have been even harder.
I finally got a remote interview today but on the day of the interview, a family member canceled last minute to help watch my son I can’t send him to a friends because he is fighting a cold and he’s teething really bad leaving me to juggle calming my baby while trying to focus. I had a thousand things running through my mind, and unfortunately, I didn’t perform as well as I hoped. I just wanted it to be over so bad once I said thank you all I did was close the lap top and cry 🤦🏽♀️.
I hear you, I am hugging you.You are a resilient and powerful woman. You're a great mom who is showing his kid that you dont quit. This is a hard season, which will pass before you know it. You are enough, you are amazing, you can and you will be the best you can. As a professional recruiter, I think you should write them an email and explain what your situation was and that you want a second chance. Believe me, I have felt with lots of mamas not having childcare, and I will hire anyone who is resilient and persistent.
