Age appropriate shows?

My daughter 3 (4 in Dec) wants to be Miraculous Ladybug for Halloween, I mentioned to my mom she watches the show and she seen a costume and wants to be that. My mom gave me a whole spill about how it’s not appropriate for her age. My argument is she is seeing a girl superhero dressed as a ladybug and a cat sidekick. I also mentioned my son (6 yrs) likes The Amazing World of Gumball, and she was mad about that. I’ve seen both shows and I think they are fine. Would these be inappropriate for their ages? Show suggestions? They watch other things too but I think my mom wants them to stick with Bluey, Paw Patrol, Super Kitties which they watch but aren’t crazy about.

My son's favourite movie is Shrek... He's two. I know other kids that like Star Wars, Back to the Future....

Let them be whatever they want to be. Yes, her advice is appreciated, but she's also not their mother, you are. If you're comfortable with them watching those shows, then it should be fine. I mean my daughter who is 3 almost 4 loves horror movies 🤷‍♀️ everyone says they are too scary for her but she enjoys them and has no issues.

I don’t know much about the gumball show but I think it is for an older audience but really our children will watch whatever we as parents deem appropriate and ultimately it’s really your decision alone. I think the ladybug show is really cute and she will be adorable

I've personally noticed many kids (if given the chance) like more mature shows (for their age) because there is more suspense and drama.

You do you. Personally I think Gumball is a little eh. It’s very like, low attention span (I say that as someone with ADHD who likes things fast-moving for myself. But I think the show is too fast-moving for little kids and they should have things with a slower pace). Also sometimes the characters can be kindof sassy in a way that I wouldn’t want my kids to imitate. I haven’t seen Ladybug yet, but my kids like it.

Hmmm.. Honestly I see nthn wrong with that. (Ive heard of the Amazing World of Gumball bu never really seen it) but, I say let the be what ever they want (well, of course "age" appropriate). I think ladybug is good. My kids lyk that show too. Argument back with that would be, they like the show, i have watched it with them and think the show is fine and see nothing wrong with it. U, being their mom, will support what they watch or wana be for Halloween. (Again, within reason and age appropriate).

Yes it is. I watch it with. Is it not age appropriate for me? Gumball I don’t like but my kids been watching it since she was four

Tell your mom her moming days are over and to back the hell off. I've seen both shows you mention and all the little kiddy ones too. All are fine. My son watches scooby doo from the 70s at 4, we put on Monster House the other day as a Halloween movie too 🤷🏽‍♀️ he also watches our shows with us sometimes too which includes Yu Yu Hakasho, One Piece, A recent Sonic series, and many others I can't think of the names to right now

@Ele yea I agree Gumball is like one of those “dumb goofy shows” but it gets him off YouTube lol

@ᏗᏒᎥᏋᏝ🧜‍♀️ yea I realize my daughter likes the super girly shows that have drama and emotions like Barbie and teenie ping very over dramatic lol

@Dontay exactly what I told her she can’t even tell me what’s wrong with the shows only that it’s not age appropriate smh

@Samantha yea she is great at some things but she definitely worse than me when it comes to letting them grow up lol the seseme street phase is the past for them now. I was rewatching Demon Slayer and my son seemed interested. I showed him first episode of My Hero Academia and he said he liked it so we will see. I usually give him a disclaimer of “ this might be a lil scary in some parts” but he sits there lol

I don’t see any issue with that. My son (5) watches random things on Netflix. Come to find out he watches Gabby Dollhouse, Sam & Cat, Alexa & Katie and he also likes scary/horror movies. He also watches Spider-Man, Transformers, Dinosaurs, Lego, Ninja Turtles and among of other movie/tv shows.

Please I love ladybug and don’t tell anyone but it’s probably one of my favorite shows to watch with my little sister. She will be 8 next month and we’ve been watching it since she was four.

@ᏗᏒᎥᏋᏝ🧜‍♀️ I love Dahl ❤️

PBS had a free tv app that you can watch live or you can pick a show and watch seasons they have available of a specific show.

I have seen every episode of Ladybug & Cat Noir since my oldest loves that show. I haven't seen anything that would be inappropriate at all. My youngest will sometimes sit and watch it with her.

I don't see the problem with dressing up as Miraculous and Gumball. My son loves to watch Scooby doo, the Garfield show, transformers and Miraculous with my niece when we are down in London visiting family and he is two years old. He will even watch Dreamer TV shows, which I sometimes like to watch, and he will even watch other programs on his tablet.
