Cows milk

My little boy is 10 months old and refuses formula for the last month I can get about 6oz of milk I’m him a day he just refuses it and screams and cries, I’ve tried different bottles etc! I spoke with my health visitor and she said it’s fine she isn’t worried cause he’s a good eater and gaining weight and to give him cows milk if he will drink that?! Has anyone done this before as I’ve read so many reasons not to give them it as a drink🤔

I haven’t, no.. I’d recommend speaking to your GP before following the advice. Every baby is different (my mum says I’d only drink my milk cold and refused it every other way) - can your formula be stored in the fridge? Maybe cold would be preferred?

@Parris I spoke to my gp last week about it but she didn’t really give me a straight answer just said it will be better than him drinking nothing at all but there can be side effects so didn’t really say whether to or not🤣 I’ve tried all different temperatures, warm, just to say warm, cold straight out of fridge, I was the same would only drink it cold so that’s what made me try but he’s just not having it, he also reflects any food I make up with formula too like porridge. It’s like he knows it’s in there🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

My boys the same. He’s 10 month and isn’t really interested in milk. He’s got CMPA so he’s been having oat milk on his porridge ,he will drink about 2oz maybe from his bottles of formula throughout the day then wakes in the night and drinks about 4oz 🤦🏼‍♀️. He is having 3 meals a day he’s started having porridge before bed too but I’ve heard they can’t drink normal milk as I call it 🤣 till they are one🤯

@Bianca yeah they say wait till 12 months for normal but the health visitor said today just do it if I want to see if he will drink more but I’ve read bad things about doing it before but then part of me thinks is it really going to be that much difference if the space of just under 2 months🤦🏽‍♀️ x

My little one has reduce her formula intake. Currently only managing about 300ml. She eating 3 good meals. Spoke to my HV who said as shes eating well not to worry. Ensure i give her plenty of dairy- greek yogurt and cheese. Vitamins as shes drinking less than 500ml. Not much else you can do if the LO’s are refusing to drink. I think my little one is more interested in food- which is great as that the direction you want it to go x

My LO goes through phases like this HV said no to cows milk yet and said just get vitamin supplements and give it he’s drinking under 500mls a day x
