For puree fed babies (only)

What are you giving for your babies to eat? I'm stuck with a few vegetables: Sweet potato Potato Carrots Broccoli Cauliflower Parsnips Butternut squash Garden peas I mix them with each other, but it seems my lo got bored of it? Or doesn't like some flavour combinations. So, for the last week, he didn't have anything apart from boob and cereal in the morning as he clamped his mouth every time a spoon would go near his mouth. I'm clueless 🤦🏼‍♀️

You can give them any veg pureed and also proteins too like meat and lentils. They're also able to have yoghurt now so maybe yoghurt and fruit?

@Lauren would you say pureed lentils or not?? He likes yoghurt with fruit, fortunately 😊

If you would like to start your baby on protein I give my 7 month old boiled chicken that I bend with mashed sweet potato I add formula to make it nice and soft

Are you interested at all in adding some BLW? I find my boy is far more engaged in meals when he has things to hold/explore like a big Brocolli 😂 I also do some spoon feeding to make sure he’s actually getting some nutrients but he’s getting better over time with feeding himself

My girls love scrambled egg, we make it with milk so super soft

Ours has proper meals now (puréed down) Daddy is a chef! We are very lucky. For example tonight she had puréed fish, potato and broccoli. Gobbled it down. Day before she had chicken and veggies. Tomorrow night she has tomato risotto. Brekkie I give weetabix with her formula. And porridge. Sometimes I give her scrambled egg and toast as I’m doing a bit of both

Avocado is a good one, I mix it with my little girls milk. I didn't think she would eat it, but she ate the whole lot when I gave it to her last week. Farely's rusks are good for breakfast too, crush them up with a bit of babies milk for their cereal, weetabix is good too for breakfast, I just put some fruit puree in and mix it x

Few things my LO loved: -Avocado with mashed banana and mixed with boiled egg yolk (if you already introduced egg that is) or just the combination of avocado and banana is great - broccoli, pear and pea puree - sweet potato, carrots and lentil puree then mixed with cream cheese - avocado, pea and pear puree - chicken, carrot, broccoli puree mixed with cream cheese - for breakfast; weetabix with banana or porridge oats + banana + blueberry + Greek yoghurt. I found that adding things like yoghurt and cream cheese to the puree makes it more palatable for them. I always taste to see if I’d like it before giving it to my LO

Are you completely against anything non-pureed? Could you offer a baby wafer or melty stick (marketed 6m+ even for traditional/puree weaning) with the puress, you could dip the wafer/stick in the puree and baby can use it to feed themselves. Sorry, no other advice really as we're doing completely BLW.

@Carys oh he eats wafers and melt sticks. I'm not against blw. I am offering avocado or pasta. He had pancakes last week and an omelette tonight. So it's not like he doesn't have non pureed food. I am on a specific diet which wouldn't be very good for him and my husband is a meat eater, and the only veg he eats is ketchup or fries 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Dragon mummy that sounds a bit like us 😂 I'm a vegetarian and partner doesn't eat vegetables (he's tried broccoli and corn on the cob with baby but didn't like it) and is fussy with meats. Baby mainly eats what I have so I keep worrying if she's getting enough variety of meat but it is what it is and I try to plan meat food for her on days her Dad is off work. Could you do natural purees like hummus or do baby jam (frozen fruits and chia seeds). You could serve either on toast or with something to dip if its the spoon feeding baby isn't keen on. Or slightly lumpier meals like risotto maybe.
