Potty training struggle 😩

So my son will be 3 in December, and he was doing good with potty training for a little bit, and then went completely backwards. Like he will scream and throw a fit if I try to put him on the potty- mostly poop. He goes pee sometimes, but before would be wanting to go constantly, even if I'm constantly asking if he wants to go. He went poop maybe 4 or 5 times just fine no screaming, and then all of a sudden won't. Treats, toys, none of it works. I was hoping to have him fully potty trained by December because we have another baby coming. Any advice?

Commenting to keep this post. I am in the same boat with my daughter

Same thing going on with my daughter 😩

Its so frustrating. Every time he poops his diaper I want to 😢.

@Kaelyn yess omg and trust me with a new born feels even worst having to still buy diapers when ik she can go potty 😩

Oh my gosh thing with my son who I'll be 3 in December

@Vanessa that's exactly what I don't want 🫠

@Tabby what do we do?!

My son went through this around the same age and we discovered he had been struggling with constipation to the point he was in pain and unable to communicate that to us. After an X-ray and a few enemas over time, he was cleared out and began using the potty willingly again. It took months though and it was rough for all of us.

@Malorie awe poor guy. That sounds terrible. 😔 I'm glad it got figured out!

Fair warning...even if you get him fully potty trained before the new baby arrives-he might regress to nearly starting over. My friend's child did this, new baby is now 3 months and have just put a complete pause on the 3yr old's potty training because she regressed so much and it was too much to do with newborn

You’re not alone girl! My boy is the same way. I think it’s tougher with boys than girls. It’s just a stage… but it feels like freakin forever. I’m so over changing pull ups
