If your spouse told you that sometimes when you give love to them, it's too much to handle or that at times they struggle reciprocating love on your level, how would you feel? Thoughts?

Truly if someone says that your love can be too much to handle, wouldn't you start to wonder if they love you or not as much as you love them?

Therapy maybe? How long have y’all been together

It’s really dumb but men love to chase. Try scaling back a bit and focus on yourself and your kid(s) and see if anything changes.

It depends. People have different love language so maybe he’s trying to let you know his is different to what you do and he needs other things from you. Or maybe he does feel a bit suffocated. I wouldn’t immediately jump to the conclusion that they don’t love me. I would communicate and ask them to explain further

I sometimes feel overwhelmed when my partner wants cuddles and to be close to me. It’s not that I don’t love him, it’s just I like my space and I would find it hard to reciprocate the amount he would like. We’ve discussed it and he now just laughs if he asks for a cuddle and I say no. Maybe ask if he could let you know what he would be comfortable with.

@Melinee lol bet.

I thank all of you very much!

I think it depends on how they mean it... is it more that you guys have different love languages and they struggle to understand yours, or struggle to respond the same way? Is it that you are physically affectionate, and they are just more of the type who doesn't like being touched much? If something like those scenarios, then i would just say helping get to understand each other better and find ways to compromise together what you both need in this relationship would be important..... if they meant it in some other way, then yeah, id be concerned about their interest in our relationship. Counseling can help you guys get to the root issue. And godly help you find ways to better connect so both of you are happy?
