Please I’m a first time mum and I’m panicking I feel like the worst mum every and my partner doesn’t seem to understand why I feel like it my fault

If it’s causing you a lot of stress, it wouldn’t hurt to get in touch with your pediatrician to see what he/she thinks. I think your LO is going to be alright though! 🫶🏼 My partner was taking our baby out of the bouncer we had sitting on our kitchen counter and accidentally bonked her noggin on our light fixture. She’s perfectly fine!

The first time this sort of thing happens is awful but as soon as your little one is on the move, this kind of thing will happen so frequently and they will barely react! I was told that if a baby cries right away and can be soothed it’s a good sign. But you’d want to be looking out for signs of a concussion like vomiting or excessive drowsiness etc. Call 111 if it’ll put you at ease. They can advise you on next steps.

I second Hannah — I was a nervous wreck with any bump my kiddo got early on. Now that he’s mobile…. My goodness. There’s no stopping the head bonks! How on earth have we survived as a species? Babies are a lot more rugged than they look
