My baby is very similar. The food she will eat the most of is yoghurt and fruit or porridge and fruit, and she eats some finger foods like cheese, fruit and veg sticks, little bits of meat or toast, baby wafers or some form of melty puff. She has no interest in my ‘real’ dinners. So I just really do either yoghurt, porridge or a breakfast or fruit or veg pouch or pureed avocado as the spoon feed, alongside some finger food and snacks and just try and balance out her diet across the day as much as I can!
My son is the same in terms on not having 3 meals a day. He eats a variety but only a few spoonfuls. As long as they are gaining weight and happy, I think it's OK as milk is their primary source of nutrients until about 1 year old
My little boy is the same and I really thought he'd be such a foodie cos me and his dad are food obsessed! The only things he eats properly are toast/rice cakes with peanut butter, fruit and pasta so I just try and blend as many veggies as possible into a sauce for pasta. He also seems to 'go off' things he used to like which is frustrating when he already eats so little. I think all babies go at their own pace with this and he definitely has good days and bad days so hopefully they'll all get there eventually 😊
Oh and yoghurt like others have said!
I don't have any advice but I can relate. We've been offering 3 meals a day since 7 months (at dieticians advice) and he still isn't interested. We offer all sorts of food, but we'll be lucky if he even takes a few bites/spoons. He'll eat melty sticks and other similar snacks fine though but of course the nutritional value doesn't make up for the milk he's not drinking because he's still trying to reduce his milk intake as if he's eating proper food. It really is disheartening and I'm finding it so stressful, it doesn't help my baby is between the 0.4-2nd centile which his dietician considers underweight. Their only advice however is to keep offering food. Persevering is pretty much all we can do. I'm also trying to find finger food dinner recipes to see if he'll eat them like he does melty sticks. As disheartening as it can be I think it's still okay for babies to be taking their time with food at this age, as long as there aren't any weight concerns all we can do is keep trying. We're doing our best! x
