Sterilising bottles

Are you formula feeding? You need to continue sterilising with formula as it's the bacteria in the formula powder that's a problem. Not the bacteria from surfaces etc. if your pumping / breast milk then there's no need x

It’s bacteria from formula that needs properly sterilising and washed. Doesn’t matter if baby putting things in their mouth etc as it’s not the same as the harmful bacteria in formula. Having said that some people stop at 4 months xx

Formula feeding, I was always told as I make the bottles with boiling water that’s what kills the bacteria when I make the bottles, Could be wrong which is why I’m confused haha x

I wash in boiling water as well, just something I always have done but I don’t think the kettle ‘boiling’ reaches the right temp and for a certain amount time, if that makes sense? Years ago they didn’t have sterilisers so they would boil on the hob for however long and then the bottles would be considered sterilised but I think just pouring over the bottles they aren’t ‘boiling’ for a length of time. Idk if what I’m saying makes any sense😂 you could always give it ago, baby is obviously older now, worse case they’ll get an upset tummy. We’ve started making bottles and popping them in the fridge which isn’t something you’re meant to do but my little boy has been fine with doing it like this! (Just using what I’m doing as an example😂) xx

I stop sterilising at 6 months. My baby is formula fed and is fine.
