Food

Anyone else’s baby use to eat everything you give them now just suddenly eating bits but throwing most on the floor 🤦🏻‍♀️ Food was never a problem for him until the past week he now just don’t like this or that and throws it on the floor 😂🫣

Yes! I just said this to my partner this morning, he used to do really well eating and the last few days he’s only eating a little bit then flinging the plate. I’m kinda guessing it’s just a phase they go through at this age(?) 🤦🏼‍♀️ x

@Abbie must be because my son literally ate so good like he would eat nonstop if I just gave him food all day but now it’s a struggle he tries to feed my dog it or give me his food 😂 x

Yes mine is doing exactly the same! Snacks go to the dog or if he’s in his high chair he tries to look around for the dog to drop some or he puts his hand out to give it to me! 🤣 I don’t want your mushed up, slaver covered banana thanks son 🤭🤣 x

Once babies reach 1 year old, their growth slows down & they naturally start to eat less. The throwing food on the floor us more of a learning thing🤣

Happens in the transition to official toddlerhood. Every kid does it! Just keep feeding them a regular variety of foods, don’t cater to it or you’ll soon have an official picky eater. Just don’t make a big deal out of it either way, even a few bites is a win. You can give a discard bowl so they don’t throw, but it’ll be messy for a minute so I suggest a mat under them while they eat haha

Yep 95% of everything this week has been fed to the cat & dog. 😫

My little boy just turned one and is doing the same thing - from great eater to hardly eating. My first born did this and it really is normal. My current hang up with it is now we’re meant to stop giving him formula (he’s mixed fed, breast/formula) so I’m concerned he won’t be getting enough nutrients - or maybe it will help his appetite who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

Could of written this myself! We’re on holiday in Morocco and it’s just started the last couple of days. I’m finding it really difficult to manage at an all inclusive. I’m trying to just not give him any extra attention and get on with the meal and let him eat if wants or not. MIL is interfering and pandering to him. And then other guests are giving me dirty looks as there’s food flying around 🤷‍♀️ dunno what to do!

My little boy just went through this, he turned 1 last week and for a good 3 weeks was chucking his food on the floor and being so uninterested in actually eating it. He was previously such a good eater and would inhale everything, I was worried he was becoming a bit of a fussy eater. He’s now back to eating anything and everything, we didn’t change anything just kept offering food and if he didn’t want it I took it away. I think it is definitely a phase and hopefully it doesn’t last long for you x
