Is anyone else's baby struggling to hold finger foods?

I've tried a few foods but they've all been so slippy by the time they're cooked enough for BLW, food either slips out his hands or breaks into pieces while hes holding it and then he can no longer pick up/ eat it. I cut how it says to online, I've tried shredded coconut on avocado but it just ends up coming off and sticking to my son's hands. Yesterday I tried the Organix melty puffs cause I just wanted something to work and he ate it completely fine cause theyre easy to grip. I don't want to keep giving him processed food though. Any other ideas or maybe some foods that aren't slippy? I've tried carrot, avocado, parsnip, banana, red pepper so far. We're going to try omelette fingers soon but I'm worried it'll be the same

Following because we're exactly the same!

Yes! I'm focussing on doing the food 2 ways currently. Like avocado pieces to hold (or drop mostly) and then mashed up avocado with some breastmilk to feed with a spoon. Same with carrots etc in the hope something will reach the stomach 🙏

Toast, cucumber, courgette?

I used to cut notches into things to give a bit more grip. I think crinkle cutter helps too. Artie has no problem holding onto pancake, bread or flatbread with melted cheese

Recommend the book ‘what mummy makes’ - lots of ideas for finger foods e.g baby pancakes and brocoli muffins x
