Picky eating 😭

My son (turned 18 months yesterday!) has always been pretty good about eating, especially a fee things that we could always rely on him eating... but lately it seems like he doesn't want to eat ANYTHING! Anyone else in the same boat? We're giving him iron supplements, a multivitamin, and I try to have him sip on kids' protein shakes throughout the day, or sprinkle nutritional yeast on his food so he gets more nutrients... but man it worries me!

Same! It sounds like you’re doing all the right things. I’m trying to also keep other foods in front of her even tho she likely won’t eat them. They say to keep them present but always have a safe food item too.

My little girl has never been ‘good’ at eating, but at the moment she is even worse. It’s really worrying me and I’m trying everything. She still breastfeeds and I can’t see her weaning anytime soon as she will literally have nothing inside her 😭

As far as I know, it’s totally normal! Kids go through phases and especially at this age where they’re flexing their independence, they’re going to say “no” more. It’s definitely frustrating but I wouldn’t panic - the steps you’re taking to give him extra nutrients are great! If it continues on longer than you’re comfortable definitely check in with your pediatrician and they can give you some advice too

i’ve noticed if we just plop the plate down and we just eat as a family without any attention she eats a LOT more than if we try to be like “it’s so yummy!!” “mmmmm” “here comes the helicopter!” and instead basically ignore her/act like she’s just part of the fam
