Episiotomy/mama’s who tore

How long did it take for your wound to heal? I’m 6weeks pp and it’s still not fully healed :( been through a course of antibiotics and seeing my gp again next week. Just in so much pain and it’s really interfering with caring for my baby 😞

I had an episiotomy. My baby is now 4.5 months old and it's fully healed. It has felt okay since about 3 - 3.5 months. But by 6 weeks, I'd say I felt 70% healed, so if it's still super painful I'd check in with someone. Hope everything goes well ❤️

I didn’t heal for about 3 months perinatal ice packs were my best friend ! Your midwife should be able to give u some xx I hope everything goes well xx

I was recommended to take sitz baths and found it really helpful. If you’re BF I found a leaned back position really helpful.

Still suffering 3 years on from my episiotomy 😱 I dread sex as it's so painful for me and it feels like I tear and I bleed 😱😱

Mine was about 3 months! The combination of using a peri bottle, having sitz baths, and Frida boxer disposable pants and also the perinatal ice packs in there too helped heal over time! It’s so hard to care for baby when you’re also in pain/recovering, I promise it gets so much easier 🩷🩷

6 weeks is load of crap.. it took me months to heal properly and same as you I had courses of antibiotics. Self care is a must and you will get there Ino it just can take it’s toll on how you’re feeling x

It took around 4 months for me to stop bleeding internally and start feeling somewhat normal. It’s hard and a long process! Be patient with yourself💝
