Worst thing people say when you're struggling to conceive?

I think these are the most frequent, although I think one of my least favourites was "You can have my kids lololol"

I hated hearing “at least you know you can conceive.” I had a miscarriage and then spent over a year ttc with no success. My doctor was reluctant to refer me to a fertility clinic and this was always her response when I asked.

Stop putting pressure on it… said by a few people.. like I’m actually not? You actually do have to actively try anyway?!??!😂

I personally didn't have issues with fertility but I know extremely in depth about my best friends struggles with infertility and I cannot fucking stand when people say there's always adoption! Like do these people not understand adoption takes away so much of the experience women want when they're trying to have a baby like yes it's great to have as an option but it is not the same thing and I feel like it really belittles the struggles of these women to be told to just go adopt instead.

@Genevieve i had a miscarriage after it took 5 years to conceive from then until getting pregnant with my daughter I heard that so much and wanted to slap people everytime. My response was usually no I know I could get pregnant at that point, doesn't mean I will again.

"what's the rush?" Is what I hear ...or why do you want another? Its frustrating as some people have no idea what I go through, its annoying 😩

I get your mad from my family because I want another child. I just want to grow my family.

@Natalie I got pregnant the second month of actively trying, but had never had a scare even though we mostly used the pull-out method (always open to the possibility of pregnancy). It ended in miscarriage and I had to advocate so hard to see a fertility doctor. It was over 2 years after the miscarriage that I finally saw a fertility doctor and then a year after that until the IUI. During the time in between we were still actively trying and I heard it so many times, almost always from well meaning people.

Toxic positivity can be the absolute worst! People reaaaaally want to say something upbeat when sometimes the best thing to say is "you know what, it's shit for you and you don't deserve it"
