Nursery Christmas

Hi. I'm a first time mum, just trying to figure out Christmas budget. Anyone know the etiquette for nursery gifts. Do I buy a small gifts for the nursery workers? Or just buy a box of chocks for everyone? Or nothing at all? I'm useless with stuff like this but trying to be a organised mum.

My sons not started yet but when I done my work experience in a nursery a few years back it was around Christmas time and I remember a few parents bought tubs of chocolates to be shared between the workers and some gave out individual gifts & cards to each worker. I remember being more thrilled with my cards made by the kids mind! I’d say it’s completely your preference, if you’ve not got a massive budget I’d definitely say just get one thing to be shared rather than buying everyone seperate - it’s always trickier that way aswel as you never really know what anyone likes

I’d say a tub of chocolates of a tin of biscuits, or some home-baked biscuits if you have those skills! 😊

Usually you buy a gift for your childs keyperson or a bottle of wine/box of chocolate for the room. They usually number those gifts and each staff pulls a number out a hat and take one home x

It’s a lovely gesture to get chocolate and biscuits but they may get so many! You could get gift cards for coffee? Amazon gift card? I guess it depends on budget etc I love a coffee in the mornings especially when I was working..

It’s completely up to you if you want to buy things. I’m a nursery assistant and most parents tend to get a card and a big box of chocolates for the whole room rather than individual gifts but some parents choose to buy for their children’s key worker and some don’t buy at all. It’s not compulsory for you to buy however we greatly appreciate parents for it xx
