My mom is no help
Hi all,
Maybe I'm just having a bad week but I just feel so angry at my mom. This is my first baby and when I was pregnant i was so nervous that it would just be me and my husband left to do everything ourselves. We don't have family in the same city. My mom said she couldn't wait to help out and would visit all the time. That has since not materialised..... she was good for the first month and now has come to see us in week's. Keeps saying she'll visit to help and never follows through.
It's really getting me down and making me feel lonely when my husband is at work all day.
I've tried to talk to her about it but might as well be talking to the wall.
Does anyone else experience this ?

Yep… my mom visited a few times in the first month of my daughters life, but since, she’s only seen her 4/5 times, and she’s 13 months old 🤷🏼♀️ I gave up trying to make a village. I have a couple of close friends and my partner, that’s all I need x

Honestly i think the expectations to have them there like it’s an obligation and your mum should or has to is wrong. If they help great if not it’s not their responsibility. Your mum is getting old shouldn’t you be looking after her maybe she needs her little girl. The child is yours, yours and your partners responsibility no one else’s so no need to get angry at them

Yes my mother has seen our daughter maybe 5 times and she’s almost 8 months old. We have always had a strained relationship but I thought it might change when baby arrived. She takes care of my sisters children 3/4 times a week. I feel your pain! Sending love and strength 💗
