BODY DISMORPHIA

My husband, yes my husband has diagnosed me as having body dysmorphia because I want a face procedure that eliminates my double chin and it literally takes 20 minutes Not only that after he said I have body dysmorphia he is officially saying he'll divorce me if I get the procedure So I'm very very sure I do not have body dysmorphia but now I wonder what does he have to be diagnosed as: An asshole, a dick, hmmmm What are your thoughts?

I can't imagine this is normal, I once had drinks with a friend that said she spent like $1500 on Botox and didn't tell her husband and yet I'm sure if he knew he wouldn't call her names and say you broke this family and you're a bad example for our child....no no he wouldn't

yeah he’s a dick. personally i’m not a fan of cosmetic surgery but that’s just for myself. if it’ll make you feel happier in your own skin i don’t see an issue… as your husband he should be supportive and not saying crazy shit like that. he sounds like a jerk, like how does you doing something for yourself that’ll make you feel better about yourself harm him? it’s one thing if he opened up a discussion and pointed out how he thinks you are beautiful just the way you are and isn’t thrilled with the idea but he will still stand by and support you bc its what you want but instead he comes off as judgmental and mean. he’s not a woman so he has no idea what its like to live in todays society for women… so he should keep his mouth closed. also you mentioned its a simple and fast procedure

Idk just my take but maybe he’s worried you will be too attractive or something and he’s like jealous of that idk. Is he happy with how he is? Do you find him attractive and does he find you attractive? I say I would do it if I really wanted to and it would make me feel better. I am about 50 ibs overweight now and I wanted to lose the weight before I got pregnant again but I’m 16 weeks now. My partner moved out to his own place and we are kinda working on things but I am okay with my body right now bc I know I’m healthy and my baby needs me to gain so I will. Hoping the weight comes off in the following year after baby.

But yeah I couldn’t understand if my partner was like that toward something I wanted to do!

Maybe he doesn’t see your insecurity as big of a deal as you do to need surgery for it (everyone’s own insecurities seem a lot worse to themselves than others see it) and he might think that if you start getting procedures to correct one thing it’ll lead to more till the point you become completely different to what he married. Side note, what is the procedure because I desperately need to get rid of my double/triple chin 😫

Have you considered that maybe he loves you the way you are and, is concerned that this surgery might lead you wanting more. He probably just doesn’t know how to express himself. No an ahole or dick, he just doesn’t agree with what you want to do. Have you tried other ways to get rid of your double chin before resorting to surgery?

Been with him for 18 years And he's giving me the biggest bs about this

I’ve been with my husband for 20 years and he would never approve of something like this. He would encourage me to exercise and change my diet to lose it. Maybe your partner is feeling it’s unnecessary and he didn’t know how to express it properly so he went to that extreme of saying that I don’t think he’s being an asshole or dick personally. Men just have a tendency to not communicate well
