Barely any midwife appointments

Im 25 weeks now, and the first & last time I had an appointment with a community midwife was at 16 weeks (apart from my initial booking appt). Is this normal? With my first I felt like I was going to see a midwife every few weeks. Feel so confused. My next one is at 28 weeks pregnant.

You get less appointments if it’s not your first child. Something like 10 for a first and 7 otherwise?

Did you have your scan at 20 weeks? You should have another midwife at 25 weeks. Check the badger notes app for appointments - there's a couple they didn't tell me about or send a letter and if I didn't check the app I might've missed it

If this is your 2nd Child then there's no need to see you so often don't know why because every pregnancy is different this is my 3rd and I'm classed as high risk which you would think I would need more appointments but apparently not. I think they will just see how you are at each one. I'm consultant-led as this will be my 3rd c section so I have Dr appts aswel but they still won't see me any more than my 1st. Its weird lol

https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/your-pregnancy-care/your-antenatal-appointments/ - this is a list of all the different scans and midwife appointments you should be having. Normally they book your next one at the appointment you’re attending. If this is your first baby, you should’ve also had a 25W midwife appointment, so if you haven’t had one call your midwife to get it arranged

You miss the 25th week appointment with a second child.

@Natalie see my first two pregnancies were classed as high risk and I was seen regularly for both. The second babe I had fetal monitoring every week, growth scans and Ob app on alternating fortnights from 30wks onwards. Currently 20wks and I’ve only had my booking app, due for my scan this week and not sure when my next apps are but was told I’m considered “low risk”. 🤷🏻‍♀️
